TEHRAN - Iran and the 5+1 group have underlined the need for the removal of potential obstacles in the way of implementing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), said Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araqchi.

Araqchi, who was present in a meeting between Iranian and 5+1 foreign ministers in New York, said that the two sides reviewed the preliminary measures related to the implementation of the JCPOA both on the issue of the removal of the anti-Iran sanctions and the country’s nuclear activities, Press TV reported Wednesday.

He pointed out that the foreign ministers voiced satisfaction with the fact that the 5+1 countries have completed the legal procedures regarding the implementation of the JCPOA, and expressed hope that the implementation of the accord will begin with the completion of the Iranian Parliament’ review of it.

Araqchi said that Iran and the six other countries emphasized the need for Iran and the IAEA to continue their cooperation until all issues related to Iran’s past nuclear work – the so-called possible military dimensions (PMD) – are cleared up.
